Central Canada Comic Con 2010

Independent comic artist/writer/editor Anthony Hary returns to the Central Canada Comic Con this October. Anthony is from Minneapolis, Minnesota and is currently Editor in Chief for A.N.A Comics, a company known for titles such as Rise of the Independents, Brethren and the upcoming Henchmen. As well A.N.A is currently working on a Swin Suit Comic which will contibute procedes to the fight against breat cancer.

 This will be Anthony's second time at C4 and he promises some surprises this time around including a few Star Wars themed prints exclusive to the Central Canada Comic Con.

Draw the World Together is an organisation that has been created to unite arts communities in providing possibilities for children who live in communities where they do not have the opportunity for basic healthcare and education.

Our first project was to enrol comic book artists from around the world in the idea of donating a piece of artwork. These pieces of artwork were auctioned to raise money for the work being done by the charity EveryChild in Cambodia. Contributors to the project included artists David Lloyd, the creator of V for Vendetta (which became a major motion picture by Warner Brothers), Dave Gibbons who has worked on The Watchman and 2000AD and Bryan Talbot the ‘godfather’ of British underground comics who is also known for his work on 2000AD.

“As communities we are powerful. As a comic book community I feel that there is a potential to make a difference. To make a difference to those children in the world who do not have the opportunity to complete the basic education that would enable them to enjoy the books and comics that so inspired us as children, those books and comics that take us into new worlds of fun and adventure. Adventures that express the enormous potential we have as people to be powerful and cooperative within our communities.”

Actor Garrett Wang, best known as Ensign Harry Kim on Star Trek: Voyager, has been added to the C4 guest list for this October.

In addition to his notable role on Star Trek Garrett has acted in many feature films and TV series. He portrayed Chow Ping-Yen in the Emmy Award nominated and Steven Spielberg produced TV mini series Into The West which first aired in 2006. As well Garrett has been seen in recent years in Star Trek: Of Gods and Men, Why Am I Doing This?, Acts of Violence and The Ride.

Voice Actor Lee Tockar will be attending C4 this Halloween! 

Lee started voice acting in 1989 and has done numerous voices for cartoons, films, anime and video games in his career. Some of his credits include The League of Super Evil, Bionicle, Barbi, Death Note, Transformers: Beast Wars, Dragon Ball Z, Johnny Test, Iron Man Animated Adventures, Mega Man, Mobile Suit Gundam, Storm Hawks and many more!
