Sal Abbinanti
Educated at the University of Southern California, Sal Abbinanti (Sam to his friends) now lives and works on the north side of Chicago. Sal has worked with such classic characters as the Atom, Swamp Thing and Conan and acquired the rights to the Atomika series in 1999.


Norm Breyfogle
American comic book artist. He was involved with the character of Batman in one book or another consistently from 1987-1995. He also co-created the character of Prime for Malibu Comics, and created and owns the copyright and trademark for the character Metaphysique.
He has worked on many different characters for most comic book publishers at one time or another. Breyfogle is currently working on The Danger's Dozen with creator and publisher Thad Branco of A First Salvo.


Tommy Castillo
a master artist of the twisted and the macabre. Whether creating a slimy corpse reaching for you or the gentle glance of a mighty dragon, Tommy will capture you with the dynamics of his penciling and the intensity of his palette. A career spanning eighteen years Tommy is famed and sought after for his dark humor, brilliant attention to detail, and his love of the darker side of art. Tommy has put paint and pencil to such titles as Batman Detective, Legends of the Dark Knight, Toetags with Horror legend George Romero, Evil Ernie, Tales From the Crypt, Alice in Wonderland, King Kong, Dragons Myths and Mayhem, various storyboards and designs for films, and many more of the macabre based literature. Tommy has been sought out by the fields largest companies, DC comics, Paramount Pictures, Warhammer, Wizards of the Coast, Image, and as off beat as Rolling stone Magazine. Echo Chernik
echo has over fifteen years of experience as a professional commercial artist in the advertising field, and five years as an instructor of graphics and digital illustration at pratt institute, westchester community college, marymount manhattan and skidmore cci. she specializes in art nouveay influenced poster design, adverisements, package design and bookcovers.
she is a traditionally trained artist - graduate of pratt institute, summa cum laude (presidents award for academic excellence). a traditional background in art focuses on skills such as drawing and painting as well as perspective and color theory. this allows the artist to translate their concept into whatever media best suits the job - resulting in a very versatile artist, who is not limited by any one medium.
what does the -x stand for in echo-x?
the x represents a variable, which in programming terms, means that it can be substituted for nearly anything. for example: x=illustrator, x=3d texture artist, x=instructor, and so forth. it is representative of a wide and varied range of skills and talents.
she is currently working out of the studio in southwest florida for a change of scenery and inspiration (from new york city). when not illustrating, she also enjoys 3d modeling, kick boxing, target shooting, studying japanese, baking and outings to the park with her daughters.

Susan Dawe
Although Sue Dawe works on a variety of themes with different media she is most known for her fantasy airbrush artwork. A graduate in animal science/pre-veterinary medicine from San Luis Obispo's Cal Poly University, Sue has always found inspiration in the animal world for her creations of imagination.
A creative writer by hobby, Sue has sketched a career as a visual storyteller, and colored it with her own unique and distinctive style. Her images evoke surreal dreamscapes populated by fantastic characters both human and mythical, transporting viewers to world that might have been.
Sue enjoys fantasy and period costume design, keeping active by skiing, snorkeling and SCUBA diving off the beautiful Southern Californian coast and around the world. She resides in San Diego with her husband Michael, border collie Brandybuck, and cat Vincent.

Scott Kolins
Kolins' interest in drawing and comics began when he was around 10 years old as an avid comic book reader in the late 1970s. In the 1980s, he worked under Dennis Jensen, and then under Kim Demulder and Bart Sears. In 1991 he went to New York to the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art where he attended 2 years and then got a job with Valiant Comics. He was then hired as a Romita Raider (in house art corrections under John Romita Sr.) at Marvel Comics.[1]
Kolins announced his move from Marvel in 2007 and that he had been talking to Geoff Johns about a future project.[2][3]
Kolins has attended every San Diego Comic-Con for a decade or more.

Dave McCaig
comic book artist and colorist born in Canada. He also works in the animation industry.
Comics he has worked on include Adam Strange, X-Men, Star Wars, Superman: Birthright, The Matrix Comics, Nextwave, New Avengers, and Northlanders.
Animation projects have included key color design on the first three seasons of the The Batman (2004) animated series at WB, and various duties on the fourth (rendered in CGI) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film.
He won the 2008 Joe Shuster award for Best Colorist, which was awarded for the first time in that year.
He also runs a forum for comic book colorists and artists called Gutterzombie.com

Alex Milne
Graduating from Sheridan College, Milne debuted on the comics scene after being picked up by 3 strangers Dreamwave Productions to pencil their Transformers: Energon series. He would also work on Transformers Armada: More Than Meets the Eye, and the box art for the Alternators Jazz and Grimlock during his time there. After the collapse of Dreamwave, Milne was hired by UDON to work on Devil's Due Publishing's third G.I. Joe vs the Transformers comic. After its completion, Milne was hired by IDW Publishing to pencil and ink the official adaptation of the 2007 Transformers movie, released in June, 2007, a month before the release of the movie.[2] Other major projects have included IDW's The Transformers: Megatron Origin and the The Transformers: Spotlight issue on Arcee as well as Transformers Timelines for Fun Publications and the TFcon Toronto 2007 "Alternated Masterpiece" and 2009 "Universe Divided" lithographs. He also created the box art for the 2008 and 2009 BotCon exclusives as well as the 2009 Botcon Transformers 25th Anniversary Lithograph. Alex Milne also drew the 2007 Botcon comic "Games of Decepticon", and drew the cover for the 2009 "Wings of Honor" comic. Milne was the principal artist on the Transformers Movie Sequel comic: Transformers: The Reign of Starscream. Most recently, he has worked on the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen prequel series, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Movie Prequel: Alliance, covers for the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Movie Prequel: Defiance series, and the third issue of the comic adaptation for the Revenge of the Fallen movie. His next project is working on covers for Tales of the Fallen, a Spotlight-style 6 issue mini-series set in the Transformers movie universe. He will also illustrate the interiors of #5 and #6.


Yanick Paquette
Among the titles he has worked on are: Checklist: ABC A-Z, Adventures of Superman, Areala Warrior Nun, Avengers, Codename: Knockout, Gambit, Gen¹³, JLA, Negation', Power Company, Space: Above And Beyond, Superman: The Man of Steel, Terra Obscura, Tomorrow Woman, Transmetropolitan: Filth of the City, Seven Soldiers: The Bulleteer, Wonder Woman, Xena: Warrior Princess, and Civil War: X-Men.
He is the current regular artist on Ultimate X-Men and Young X-Men.
He is now launching a new Grant Morrisson's monthly: Batman Inc.

Dirk Strangely
Dirk Strangely is a naturally gifted upcoming artist; his dark yet beautiful macabre work has a sense of feeling all of its own, drawing people into it. Dirk has an ability to take the disturbing and make them beautiful and appealing to the eye. Dirk is quickly becoming internationally known and has an incredible clientele that regularly follows his works following him from conventions, art shows, and gallery shows.
Dirk is a macabre fine artist and writer of both horror, and fantasy. Dirk has been published in mainstream magazines along with newspapers across the United States addressing his works of art. His books can be ordered on his website, Amazon, and can be found in some comic stores.
Marcio Takara
Marcio Takara is a Brazilian artist, born in Rio, in 1980, but living in Toronto, ON since 2004. He has been working with illustrations, character design and graphic design since 2000. He also did comicbook work for studios like Marvel (SpiderMan & Fantastic Four: Hard Choices), Chimaera (Consortium of Justice) and Image (Dynamo5).
He is currently working on The Incredibles comicbook for Boom! Studios, doing the interior art and covers.

J. Torres


Andrew Wildman
Andrew Wildman is a designer/illustrator of some 25 years industry experience. His work as an illustrator has been used in advertising and publishing but it is for his work in the field of comics that he is best known. Illustrating for books such as Transformers, The X-Men, Spider-Man and Venom with such acclaimed writers as Larry Hama, Peter David and Ralph Macchio has gained him a devoted fan base. Further work includes character design and animated movie production for the TV and Video Games industries. Storyboarding for the film Wing Commander and design and concept work on games The Mummy, Gunlok, Jesse James: Gunfighter, Delta Force, Largo Winch and Dredd v Death have created a presence within the computer games industry.
Wildman returned to the comics world of Transformers with the Dreamwave and IDW published Graphic Novel The War Within – The Dark Ages, with long-time collaborator Simon Furman and Black Horizons with writer Tim Seeley published by Devil’s Due. Andrew was also Head Character Designer at BKN New Media where he created characters for the animated TV show Legend of The Dragon along with Ali Baba, Kong: Return to the Jungle and Zorro: Generation Z.
Andrew is currently creating a ground breaking Children’s TV series with Bob the Builder scriptwriter, Simon Jowett and developing a Graphic Novel with Bulldog Empire creator/writer, Jason Cobley who he recently collaborated with on the comic strip FRONTIER for British comic The DFC. He is also Production Designer on children’s animated TV show The Matt Hatter Chronicles which is due to air early 2011
Other work includes character and environment design for the Games Development studio, ZoeMode Guildford.
In 2005 Andrew founded the charity project, Draw the World Together. The purpose of the project is to raise funds to enable education possibilities for street children around the world.

Marc Wolfe
Starting his full-time career as an artist in 2003, Marc Wolfe has had a broad spectrum of art in both the comic book and Sci-fi industries. From his stylish traditional comic work to his near photorealistic renditions of some favorite Star Wars characters his work has caught the eye of both fans and the industry. In early 2007 he was signed as an official Lucasfilm artist and has created a number of both Star Wars and Indiana Jones images that can be seen on several posters and packaging around the world. Some of his current work can be seen on Dynamite Comics Red Sonja covers.

If you are a local artist, we would love to have you exhibit at this year's Central Canada Comic Con. All applicants will be screened prior to guaranteeing their spot, please send us a piece of your best work so we can approve you quickly! In addition to this, local artists are required to pay a table fee of $75.00 for a full 8' table, or $40.00 for a half, 4' table. We hope you take this opportunity to get your artwork seen by thousands of people, scouts and commissioners. You may very well get a good offer at the show!
International Artists:
Traveling to Manitoba for the show? We would love to have you! All out of town artists are required to send us a piece of artwork for genre approval (we prefer comic book, sci-fi, fantasy, anime and horror, and we consider ourselves a PG - R rated convention, anything too explicit will be rejected.) In lieu of travel expenses, international artists will not be required to pay table fees, and will have access to the hospo suite with snacks and beverages. We hope you take this opportunity to branch out and show your work to an all new audience!
